Intelligent Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering
About the Book Series
Intelligent manufacturing is a general concept that is under continuous development. It can be categorized into three basic paradigms: digital manufacturing, digital-networked manufacturing, and new generation intelligent manufacturing. New-generation intelligent manufacturing represents an in-depth integration of new-generation, new information and communication technology, intelligent science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and advanced manufacturing technology. It runs through every link in the full life-cycle of manufacturing thus uses autonomous sensing, inter-connection, collaboration, learning, analysis, cognition, decision-making, control, and the execution of human, machine, material, and environmental information to enable the integration and optimization of various aspects of a manufacturing enterprise or group.
This new book series will offer books that cover new developments and advances in the areas of Intelligent Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering and will include theories, methods, and applications of smart manufacturing embedded in the fields of engineering and computer science as well as the cross-disciplinary fields that relate, but still have a firm footing in Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering topics. The series will include monographs and edited volumes spanning the areas of smart manufacturing, industrial Engineering, edge computing, supercomputing, Internet-based, service-oriented, collaborative, customizable, flexible, and socialized intelligent manufacturing systems that are used to facilitate production and provide services to users.
